In this webinar, the development of carrier-based formulations for dry powder inhalers will be presented. During the development of this type of formulations, a blending and a capsule filling step are required. In order to adequately characterize carrier-based formulations, advanced analytical techniques should be applied. In this webinar, the compromise between performance of the manufactured product and the downstream process efficiency will be explored, along with a full analytical characterization of the DPI product.

Key Learning objectives

  • Carrier based formulation: component interaction theory

  • Trade-offs: aerodynamic performance vs manufacturability

  • Advanced characterization of DPIs
